It’s not everyday that I get amped up for a horror movie. But man when director Guillermo del Toro puts his stamp on something it shows. His latest film CRIMSON PEAK looks absolutely stunning filled with ghosts, atmosphere, and eerie landscapes combining into what looks like one hell of a film. Check out this synopsis courtesy of Legendary Pictures along with the first trailer which is simply beautiful:
When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak. From the imagination of director Guillermo del Toro comes a supernatural mystery starring Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam.

Damn! This movie looks so great! While there looks be be a fair share of computer animated ghosts and ghouls within, the main scares seem to be born from the wonderful set design, amazing performances from this stellar cast, and a creepy as hell tone that only del Toro can achieve. Count me in.
CRIMSON PEAK crawls into theaters October 16th 2015 just in time for Halloween!
