Can you believe AVENGERS: ENDGAME will be the 22nd installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! We’ve come such a long way. Surprisingly, no major characters have died. I’m about 100% confident not all the Avengers will make it out of this one alive. And I’m not counting the people that turned to dust, you know as well as I do that they’re not dead. We just saw a SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME trailer featuring Spider and Fury! Ok, maybe I can think of a few that died in the last film, but I’m not convinced they are “gone” gone.
Hot off the heels of CAPTAIN MARVEL, we fast forward to post AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR where we see the remaining members of the team acting as if they are in a DC Universe film. They’re still mourning their pals who turned to dust, and are trying to live in a world shaped by the will of the mighty Thanos. Hoping the team can figure this out and start joking again.
This new trailer doesn’t really spoil anything, but it does give us a better feel for what to expect. The majority of the survivors are AVENGERS core members leading me to believe we will be feeling some heavy nostalgia for the franchise in this installment. Not to mention the black & white shots from previous films littering this new trailer. Makes me think there will be some sort of time-travel element where members must return to key moments in the MCU history and right some wrongs that lead to Thanos taking power. Could be cool.
Good to see Hawkeye, Ant-Man, and Captain Marvel join the fight. Fingers crossed for a battle sequence involving every single superhero, a Captain Marvel vs Thanos moment, and possibly a hint at the X-Men joining the MCU somewhere (even a post-credits scene). Maybe I’m asking for too much. I’d settle for a good movie I suppose…
AVENGERS: ENDGAME drops April 26th, 2019. So soon, yet so far away.
