At this years CinemaCon event in Las Vegas, Sony officially announced that the next solo SPIDER-MAN film will be called SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING and they event showed off the new logo for the film seen above.
Of course fans already know that the (re) rebooted Spidey will be debuting alongside the already established Marvel heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR opening May 6th, 2016. Actor Tom Holland will be donning the red and blue suit and will give audiences a much younger High Schoolier (?) version of Peter Parker. And I’m cool with that.
The above logo looks fresh and fun and very comic book like. And I dig the new title. Sony is playing it smart by allowing this new Spidey to co-exist in the Marvel film universe and I simply cannot wait to see what Holland has in store for us. Everything I’ve seen and heard so far leads me to believe this is going to be a great new version of Spider-Man. And hopefully one fans will embrace and keep around for awhile. Ya know…more than 2 or 3 movies.
SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING swings into theaters July 7th, 2017.
