The absolutely superb trailer for the upcoming JJ Abrams (MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3, STAR TREK) directed film hit the web earlier today alongside some new posters for the film (above and below). We caught our first official glance of SUPER 8 earlier this year in a short but sweet 30 second teaser during the Super Bowl and now we have a full blown trailer that is set to premiere alongside BATTLE: LOS ANGELES today in theaters besides obviously being online.

Here is the official synopsis:

 In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident.  Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth –  something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.

I have to say that I could not be more excited for this movie. It is set in Ohio (my hometown State!), is about a bunch of kids who want to shoot a zombie movie (awesome!), is directed and produced by two of my favorite directors, and deals with a monster/alien life form! This trailer looks stunning and I get the feeling this one is going to be an instant classic!
