I live in a world where I get to say ‘They just cast the Punisher in Season 2 of DAREDEVIL.’
WHAT.
News is hitting the Nerd Wire that Jon Bernthal (THE WALKING DEAD, FURY) has been cast as The Punisher in the Netflix original TV series DAREDEVIL.
WHAT.
WHAT does this mean? Will this be an origin story for Frank Castle? I, personally, would enjoy watching Frank Castle and Matt Murdock grow as allies on the right side of the law, then have the death of Frank’s family send him down a dark path that Matt is unable to prevent. I also wouldn’t mind if the Punisher is already established and slowly creeps in on Daredevil’s turf to help calm all the violence created from the absence of The Kingpin.
Another important question is how will this impact the already established MCU/Netflix world? At this point, DAREDEVIL, IRON FIST, JESSICA JONES and LUKE CAGE will have already teamed up for THE DEFENDERS. Will Daredevil be tackling the appearance of Punisher on his own or will some of his new buddies be helping him out? ORrrrr… Will Daredevil and Punisher be teaming up to take on the threat of Bullseye? Will Punisher get his own Netflix series?! AHHHHH! NERDDDDD RANT.
A premiere date has yet to be announced for Season 2 of DAREDEVIL. Stay tuned.
