Niels Arden Oplev (original THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO) is finally tackling the big screen state side with the upcoming DEAD MAN DOWN. The movie appears to be a revenge thriller, but it looks like this is going to be a film with a lot of twists so I’m not going to try and speculate on the plot. What is known is that it stars Colin Farrell (SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS) as a hit man named Victor, Noomi Rapace (PROMETHEUS) as an out for revenge woman named Beatrice, and Terrence Howard (IRON MAN) as New York crime boss Alphonse Hoyt.
I was highly impressed with the original THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO (I don’t care if you don’t like subtitled movies, watch it, its great) and have been eagerly awaiting Opley to direct another film after his stint in television, and from the look of this trailer, I think it will end up being worth the wait.

The trailer has me crazy excited for this movie. It looks like it has the right mix of action, drama, and intrigue that one expects from top notch thrillers. With March proving more and more to be a lucrative month for impressive movies that want to avoid the slugfest of the summer blockbuster season, I think this is well poised to make a splash at the box office. One thing I know for sure is that I’ll be checking it out opening weekend.
