It’s all about the experience. The experience has to draw me in completely. Not once do I glance away from the screen. Not once do I check my phone for the time. The characters on screen hold my focus for the entirety with their plights and personalities. The story keeps me wanting to know what’s coming next. The cinematography makes me forget that real life can never compare to the vibrant and kinetic worlds being presented on the screen. These are the films that did that for me this year. These are the films that drew me in and made me forget any real-life troubles. These are the films that made me forget I was watching a film and instead gave me an experience.
