playstation-4-announcement-release

Revealed during Sony’s Gamescon press conference in Cologne, Germany, it was announced that the PlayStation 4 would be released in the United States and Canada on November 15, 2013 and November 29, 2013 for Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

This means that the PlayStation 4 will compete with Microsoft’s Xbox One’s November release window, the exact release date for the Xbox One is still unknown.

Sony also announced that PlayStation 3 owners who purchase BATTLEFIELD 4, WATCH DOGS, CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTS, or ASSASSIN’S CREED IV will be able to buy the PlayStation 4 versions of those games for a “significantly lower price” once the titles are available for it.

These might not be the only titles that receive these cross-console generation benefits but as of right now these are the only titles available with PlayStation 4 download benefits.

Sony’s $400 PlayStation 4 is only months away and with more exciting Gamescons announcements coming out throughout the week, the new console generation couldn’t come soon enough.
