Batman, Superman and all of their compadres from DC just blew the lid right off the Warner Bros. panel at Comic-Con! Not only was the first official footage of David Ayer’s SUICIDE SQUAD shown (featuring Jared Leto as the all-new Joker), but we got treated to a second helping of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE goodness in the form of a brand-new trailer! The two Big Guns of DC finally locking horns! Our first big-screen Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) kicking much Amazonian ass! Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) discovering Kryptonite! Joker/Jason Todd references! Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) running through the war-torn Metropolis from MAN OF STEEL! Superman (Henry Cavill) in Senate subcommittee hearings! Okay, maybe that last one isn’t as exciting, but still!
Next year will see the debut of two “superhero war” films. Marvel movies are still awesome, but now they may actually have true competition brewing as it looks like the DC Cinematic Universe ain’t pussy-footing around. I am extremely excited to see how it all turns out. Are you?
