I know that you have heard rumors saying that an ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT movie will come out for years and years now but it seems like THIS time it is actually true. Over this past weekend there was a huge ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT reunion featuring the entire cast and series creator Mark Hurwitz where it was reveled that the series would return for 10 more episodes and lead into a feature film! So not only do we get that movie that has been churning in the rumor mill for eternity, but we also get 10 more television episodes! Glory!
Soon after the reunion, series star Jason Bateman (HANCOCK, THE KINGDOM) had a little more to say via his Twitter account:
“We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early ’13. Very excited!”
It is speculated that Showtime and Netflix are in the running to air the new television episodes. I would be excited to see Showtime get the rights to the new episodes so we can get a little more mature content and hopefully the series writers wouldn’t have to hold anything back. However, I will take anything I can get and not complain. This is exciting news for nerds indeed! More details as they are announced!
