It’s hard to believe, but America’s favorite superhero has just turned 75 years young this year. That’s right! Superman, The Man of Steel, Kal-El, Clark Kent, whomever you want to call him has been around for a whopping 75 years cementing himself as one of the most recognized pop-culture icons ever! Beat THAT Alf!! But in all seriousness, Alf is cool.
To commemorate this momentous occasion, the folks over at DC, including Zack Snyder (MAN OF STEEL) and Bruce Timm (SUPERMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES) have decided to create a 2 minute cartoon featuring some of the biggest moments in Supes long and exciting history. The animation itself is nothing to write home about, but it’s pretty fun to watch and look back at all the good times we’ve had with the boy in blue. Check out the full animation below and let us know if you find something within we may have missed!

Pretty fun if ya ask me. I really dug the classic and iconic feel to this short. Personally I grew up with the live action films, absolutely loved SUPERMAN RETURNS and MAN OF STEEL, read a handful of the comics, watched all of LOIS & CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, and all 10 seasons of SMALLVILLE. I still dabble in the comics from time to time and mostly enjoy the self-contained stories such as BIRTHRIGHT and ALL-STAR SUPERMAN. In any case, he’s a great hero and deserves to be recognized for the bad ass he is! Thanks DC!
The animation will be included in the Blu-Ray release of Zack Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL due to swoop into stores November 12th 2013.
I think the only better way to commemorate this hero is no name your son Kal-El…NOT! Just kidding, I love you Nic Cage!
