Holy crap THE EXPENDABLES 2 just got serious! According to Deadline Bruce Willis (DIE HARD Series) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (THE TERMINATOR Series) have officially signed on to have much bigger roles in the upcoming sequel to THE EXPENDABLES. If you remember correctly, the two legendary action stars joined up with director/actor/action legend Sylvester Stallone (RAMBO Series) in the first EXPENDABLES which was arguably the best cameo scene in movie history. Never before have the three been on screen together even if it was just for a moment. Deadline reports that the two actors will have a “substantial” amount of screen time instead of just a cameo but their exact roles are still unsure.
If that wasn’t cool enough, it has also been reported by a source at Moviehole that Jean-Claude Van Damme (UNIVERSAL SOLDIER Series), Chuck Norris (DELTA FORCE Series), AND Scott Adkins 9UNDISPUTED Series) have landed themselves a role too. It is said that Van Damme and Adkins will possibly play baddies while Norris will likely have a smaller yet important role.
Directing duties for THE EXPENDABLES 2 have been passed by Stallone to Simon West who is no stranger to action with hits such as the completely awesome CON AIR and the more recent sleeper hit THE MECHANIC which starred Jason Statham (THE TRANSPORTER SERIES).
A quick rundown for the cast of THE EXPANDABLES 2 so far includes: Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Scott Adkins, and possibly Peter “ROBOCOP” Weller! If that does not trigger one hell of a nerdgasm I don’t know what will.
