Just the other day I was having a conversation with a friend about why we don’t see enough Michael Keaton (BEETLEJUICE) in movies these days. Sure we saw him revisit his comical side in THE OTHER GUYS awhile ago, but there really has not been a significant movie starring this man in a long long time. Personally, I would love to see him in more projects weather they are comedies or more dramatic such as the new ROBOCOP remake directed by Jose Pidilha (ELITE SQUAD) and starring Joel Kinnaman (SAFE HOUSE).

It was recently announced that actor Hugh Laurie (HOUSE M.D.), who was suppose to serve as the film’s villain, left the project and was thought to be replaced by Clive Owen (SHOOT ‘EM UP). Well, that’s not the case anymore because news broke earlier today that Keaton will be taking that role and I could not have been happier with the decision. I want me some Keaton dammit!

Besides Kinnaman and Keaton, the new ROBOCOP remake will star Samuel L. Jackson (THE AVENGERS) and Gary Oldman (THE DARK KNIGHT RISES) among others. Wow! Such a cool cast so far!

Production for ROBOCOP is slated for this fall with a release date set on August 9th 2013.
