Movie Trailer: Green Lantern

FINALLY all of our nerd eyes can get a glimpse of what is suppose to be one of the biggest summer movies of 2011! GREEN LANTERN comes from director Martin Campbell (CASINO ROYALE, VERTICAL LIMIT) and stars Deadpool himself Ryan Reynolds (X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, BLADE: TRINITY) as our main man Hal Jordan. I totally got an IRON MAN vibe from this trailer with a healthy mix of wit, action and a respectable serious tone at times. While I saw a pic here and some raw footage there, this trailer really gave me an idea of the scope of this...

Movie Trailer: The Mechanic

Here is a trailer for THE MECHANIC from director Simon West who began his film career directing the bad ass movie CON AIR. Here we find Jason Statham (THE EXPENDABLES, THE ONE) doing his best Jason Statham impression. I am actually a fan of this guy if only because he is one of the only manly men out there who is actually following in the footsteps of the great action heroes of the 80’s that I miss so much (Willis, Stallone, Schwarzenegger). This trailer has decent enough action and I never really got too excited about it until I...

First Poster for Cowboys & Aliens

COWBOYS & ALIENS is a movie I really want to get excited about and see in motion. It comes from Director John Favreau (IRON MAN, ELF) who has recently been placed on Hollywood’s hot list of directors due to his work with Marvel on the Iron Man movies. The movie stars Daniel Craig (CASINO ROYALE, LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER) as a lone cowboy who lost his memory and Harrison Ford (STAR WARS, HOLLYWOOD HOMICIDE) as a disgruntled colonel who does not take kindly to strangers. The idea of a movie where Cowboys and Indians are fighting and then must...

New Wolverine movie simply called THE WOLVERINE

Thanks to Joblo.com and HitFix.com I just discovered that the new Darren Aronofsky Wolverine adaptation will simply be titled THE WOLVERINE. Aronofsky has been quoted as saying that he wants to separate his version of Wolverine from the rest of the pack including the 2009 crapfest that was Gavin Hood’s X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. While I like the fact that Cyclops had a cool and very unexpected cameo in that movie, I do admit the rest was poopy stink! THE WOLVERINE will still star Wolverine regular Hugh Jackman (sweet) and will chronicle Logan’s time in Japan as told in the...

Book Preview: The Art of District 9: Weta Workshop

DISTRICT 9 was easily in my top 10 movies of 2009 (right behind MOON) and is one of the best movies I have seen in years. Director Neill Blomkamp has crafted a science-fiction masterpiece and anytime I heard someone talking about this film I have an uncontrollable nerdgasm! Which is why this book from the Weta workshop written by Daniel Falconer has hit my radar. I can not wait to see all those amazing alien weapons in full detail! Head on over to the official Weta website (where you can purchase this book) to get a sneak peak at...

Movie Trailer: The Warrior’s Way

Wow this trailer came out of nowhere! I gotta say this in one of the coolest looking trailers of the year. I am still going to be a little hesitant until I see more because this type of movie is prone to be more cheesy than bad ass. I do have hope and as long as the action sequences look as awesome as they do in this trailer we should be fine. I really dig the style of this one and if nothing else I’m sure we will get at least a few great fight sequences. I usually compare...

Movie Trailer: Battle Los Angeles

This trailer is a breath of fresh air. There is no corny voice over guy, a cool atmospheric music track, and very subtle sound effects in the background during action sequences. What we have here is a visual trailer that seems more like a teaser since we don’t really get any plot points other than what we can assume. Basically, a bad ass alien invasion in Los Angles and it does not look like the friendly E.T. type. Without spoiling too much I will let you see the trailer below and decide for yourself. I have to admit that...
