TV Trailer: TRUE BLOOD Season 4

WARNING: This article is meant for people who have seen all the episodes thus far, SPOILERS ahead. Season 4 of TRUE BLOOD is upon us and HBO has released a promo trailer to get our blood pumping! TRUE BLOOD is simply one of the best shows on TV today and I am sick with anticipation for season 4 (I’m even re-watching all past season in anticipation). While this trailer is short, it still makes me extremely anxious and I simply cannot wait for the new season to begin. Below is the synopsis for the first episode of the season...

First image of Bane from Christopher Nolan’s upcoming THE DARK KNIGHT RISES!

The first official image of Tom Hardy (INCEPTION) as the villain Bane in Christopher Nolan’s (BATMAN BEGINS, THE DARK KNIGHT) upcoming Batman sequel THE DARK KNIGHT RISES has been releases though a series of viral marketing stunts on the films official web page. I am a fan of this sneak peak image because it remains true to the spirit of the comic book character (the muzzled mouth) while maintaining a level of realism that is a Nolan staple. I also like how he is not overly ripped or muscular because that would just look goofy. I dig the HANNIBAL...

Movie Review: PRIEST

PRIEST has finally hit theaters after being delayed for a rigorous post production 3D transfer. So was this new 3D transfer worth the wait? How the hell should I know!? I borderline loathe the 3D trend in Hollywood today and went out of my way to ensure that I saw PRIEST in its original 2D format. PRIEST is directed by relative unknown Scott Charles Stewart (LEGION) who is more well know for working with the visual effects team in such movies as SIN CITY and IRON MAN. The film stars Paul Bettany (LEGION, MASTER AND COMMANDER) who tries his...

Movie Trailer: The Adventures of Tintin

Today we get our first look at the upcoming movie THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN based on the popular comic strip series from Belgian artist Herge. This movie has a lot of Hollywood power behind it that includes Steven Spielberg (JURASSIC PARK) as director, Peter Jackson (THE LORD OF THE RINGS Trilogy) as a producer, and a screenplay written by Edgar Wright (SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD). The film also boasts an impressive cast of actors including Jamie Bell (THE EAGLE), Daniel Craig (CASINO ROYALE), Simon Pegg (SHAUN OF THE DEAD), Cary Elwes (THE PRINCESS BRIDE), and Andy Serkis (THE...

TV Review: SMALLVILLE Series Finale

WARNING: This review is intended for those that have seen the episode/series and is full of spoilers! Be warned! I have seen each and every episode of SMALLVILLE in order throughout its 10 year history. I don’t think I have ever committed to one show for that long and that should say something about how much I enjoyed SMALLVILLE. Sure there have been some ups and downs throughout these 10 years (what show that lasts this long wouldn’t?) and one thing has always remained the same; I kept watching. I came back every week because SMALLVILLE is such an...

Movie Trailer: Fright Night

Here is the first trailer for the upcoming remake FRIGHT NIGHT brought to us by director Craig Gillespie (UNITED STATES OF TARA) starring Anton Yelchin (STAR TREK, TERMINATOR SALVATION) and Colin Farrell (IN BRUGES, MIAMI VICE). While this movie is a remake AND a vampire flick (two things Hollywood needs less of), it still looks to be a pretty fun flick. I am sold on the vibe this trailer is giving me and I am willing to give this one a shot. I am actually a pretty big fan of Farrell’s work and it is nice seeing him in...

Official STAR WARS Blu-Ray details and Box Art

The official Star Wars website has finally revealed the box art and full list of specs for the upcoming Blu-Ray release of this beloved saga which  is to be released on September 12th 2011! I am a little disappointed by the craptacular box art and was hoping for something more sleek such as a clean black box with simple silver wording. O well, can’t complain too much because I have been waiting patiently for years for these amazing movies to hit Blu-Ray. For all you stubborn and confused fans out there who only like half of this complete saga,...

Movie Review: THOR

THOR is Marvel’s first big summer blockbuster (soon to be followed by X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER) and serves as a stepping stone towards next summer’s THE AVENGERS. It tells the tale of Thor, the son of Odin, who is banished to Earth as punishment for his rebellious nature right before he is about to take the throne and rule the fantastical realm of Asgard (Capitol city of the Norse Gods). This was a fun introduction to the Thor universe, with a few minor shortcomings that prevented this from being something truly epic and great....

Top 5 Korean Films You MUST See!

5. THE WARRIOR (2001) Directed By: Sung-su Kim Starring: Woo-sung Jung, Ziyi Zhang, Sung-kee Ahn Plot: In 1375 China a group of exiled warriors battle to save and then protect a Chinese Ming princess from Mongolian troops with the hope to get a ship home. This relatively unheard of film is a true action epic masterpiece that will cater to fans of films such as BRAVEHEART and GLADIATOR. The scenery is breathtaking and begs for a blu-ray release. The action is brutal, intense, and well choreographed. This film has some of the best scenes with a bow and arrow I’ve ever seen....

Movie Trailer: CONAN THE BARBARIAN

Thanks to Yahoo Movies we finally get our first real look at the CONAN THE BARBARIAN remake from director Marcus Nispel (PATHFINDER, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake) starring relative unknown Jason Momoa (STARGATE: ATLANTIS, BAYWATCH) as Conan himself. The film co-stars the awesome Stephan Lang (AVATAR, TOMBSTONE) and the beautiful Rose McGowan (PLANET TERROR, CHARMED). I have to admit that the small teaser trailer we got earlier in the year was such a joke that I did not even humor it with a post. This new trailer is the real deal and gives us a true sense of what to...

Movie Review: FAST FIVE

FAST FIVE is the perfect way to kick start the 2011 summer movie season and is simply a fun ride. The fifth installment of the Fast and Furious series is by far the best and most action packed of the bunch. This feels much more like a reboot of sorts rather than a full on sequel. While there are references to past movies, newcomers will not feel left out and be able to jump on board right away. Justin Lin (THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT, FAST AND FURIOUS) returns to the series for the third time and brings along...

Movie Trailer – Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Thanks to Apple Trailers we finally get our first real trailer for Michael Bay’s (ARMAGEDDON, THE ISLAND) amazing looking summer action blockbuster TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON. If you thought the 30 second teaser shown during the Super Bowl was cool you have not seen anything yet. This bad ass trailer reinforces the fact that Bay is the master of action, ass kicking, and explosions. This trailer simply rocks and has me more than excited to see this one in theaters! This is the third Transformers movie and likely last one directed by Bay and it looks like he...

Movie Trailer: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2

I can’t believe it’s almost time to say goodbye to the Harry Potter film franchise. The latest installment HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS – PART 2 will mark the 8th movie in this long running series. I am a pretty big fan of these films and have seen each and every one of them in theaters. I am admittedly not a reader of the books, but will surely visit them once the film series comes to an end. We finally get an official trailer for this summer release and I must say this looks to be the most...

Arnold Schwarzenegger is BACK as The Terminator!

After 2009’s TERMINATOR SALVATION, the rights to the Terminator franchise were up for sale and bought by Pacificor for roughly 30 million dollars during a bankruptcy auction. Now word comes from Deadline that Schwarzenegger has signed a package deal to return to the franchise for a reboot/revival. The package deal is currently being shopped around with Arnold on board to companies such as Universal, Sony, and Lionsgate. What does this mean for us nerds who are eagerly awaiting Arnold’s return as our favorite cybernetic organism? Having him part of this package deal means he is on board to star...

Nintendo officially confirms next console to be released in 2012!

This past week there have been a lot of rumors regarding a new Nintendo home console to succeed the Nintendo Wii. While it likely will not be called the Wii2, Nintendo has given it the code name “Project Cafe”. That title will likely not stick either and just serves as a tentative title used when referring to the new system.  Some of the rumors spreading through the Internet about the new console is that Project Cafe will be the most powerful system on the market when releases in 2012, it will feature full 1080p HD graphics, the game discs...

But fear not, he WILL be back to end the series with a bang and the teaser trailer below proves it!  I for one am a huge fan of SMALLVILLE and have been a loyal viewer watching every episode for the past 10 years. Second X-MEN: FIRST CLASS movie trailer looks fantastic!

While this new trailer for X-MEN: FIRST CLASS is not that much different from the first one I previewed awhile back (seen here), it does have enough new content to get me even more excited for this film. We get some more action, a better feel for this films tone, and a cool first look at the mutant Banshee in motion! I’m over the fact that the X-Men film universe is completely different from it’s comic book roots and have decided to just enjoy these movies for that they are; a re-imagining of the X-Men world. It’s just more...

First look at BATMAN: YEAR ONE animation

DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation is about to translate one of the most iconic stories in Batman’s long history into a feature length straight-to-video cartoon. BATMAN: YEAR ONE is going to be an adaptation of the 1987 Frank Miller comic of the same name that was illustrated by David Mazzucchelli. It was a four part comic book series that chronicled the early days of Batman as a costumed hero and showcased the early bond Batman created with Lieutenant James Gordon. While die hard fans of the comic book series may be a little hesitant, executive producer Bruce Timm...
