In the fallout of Disney acquiring the STAR WARS franchise and the success of the recently concluded animated show STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, there is a new STAR WARS animated show on the horizon by the name of STAR WARS REBELS. Check out the official Disney Channel synopsis for the show below along with a full-length trailer for the upcoming series:

An animated TV series set between the events of Episode III and IV, Star Wars Rebels takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.

While my 30 year old ass is getting farther and farther away from this shows “target audience”, I have to admit I am extremely excited for this new series. I’m a huge STAR WARS nut and a child at heart, so of course this looks cool to me. I’m really excited to see what the STAR WARS universe looks like in between the 2 main trilogies, and am equally excited about the prospect of this show visiting some of our favorite characters from the film universe. Did I mention Billy Dee Williams is officially cast to appear as Lando Calrissian and there are rumors floating around saying that Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to appear!? Fnn stuff, and I’m sure there are plenty more appearances to look forward to as well.

STAR WARS REBELS is set to air this Fall on Disney XD.

I love to write, draw, and create sketch comedy videos. Tom Cruise is my favorite actor by far, Cyclops from the X-Men is the coolest, the Berserk manga and anime kicks ass, and nothing beats a good Zelda adventure. If I could have one wish, it would be for Falcor from The Neverending Story to whisk me away to paradise.
