What an amazing wee for movie trailers! First THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, then THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY and now the first official trailer for the Ridley Scott (BLADE RUNNER) directed film PROMETHEUS. I am beyond excited for this movie and it is amazing to have Scott back in the genre he belongs. In case you have been living in a cave, PROMETHEUS is a prequel of sorts to the famous ALIEN film franchise and will take place in the ALIEN universe. At this point, it appears that the classic “aliens” will not be making an appearance in this film, but it has been speculated that there is good reason for that and a connection to the movies will be evident. Below is a quick synopsis of what to expect from the plot.

A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

It is also worth mentioning that this film boasts one of the most amazing casts I’ve seen in awhile and will rival THE DEPARTED, INCEPTION, and COWBOYS & ALIENS for the “coolest cast” award. PROMETHEUS will star one of my favorite new actors Michael Fassbender (X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, 300), Noomi Rapace (THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO Series), Charlize Theron (HANCOCK), Patrick Wilson (WATCHMEN), Idris Elba (THE LOSERS), and Guy Pearce (MEMENTO) just to name a few!

I have to admit that this is one of the best trailers I’ve seen in a long time. It’s short and sweet and gets me more excited for this film than I have ever been. Looks like it is going to be an instant sci-fi classic. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think in the comments below.

PROMETHEUS opens June 8th 2012.

I love to write, draw, and create sketch comedy videos. Tom Cruise is my favorite actor by far, Cyclops from the X-Men is the coolest, the Berserk manga and anime kicks ass, and nothing beats a good Zelda adventure. If I could have one wish, it would be for Falcor from The Neverending Story to whisk me away to paradise.
